Environmental concerns about Edit magazine
- Edit magazine is FSC certified and printed on carbon balanced paper in partnership with World Land Trust.
- The cover is made from LDPE which is 100% recyclable, but recipients will need to check with their Local Authority to ensure it is recycled in their area.
- Many supermarkets now accept LDPE for recycling and some recycling centres will accept it where they have begun mixed plastics recycling. LDPE can be recycled into bin liners, litter, compost and recycling bins, plastic lumber, floor tiles, and clothing.
- Last year we experimented with Sugar Cane Carbon Neutral Recyclable Film but experienced problems during production leading to wastage and delays in distribution.
- We are now investigating 100% Compostable Film for 2020. This is the option used by the Guardian newspaper, the National Trust and Which magazine. Currently some councils don’t accept this option and so we are following the situation closely.
We received Edit and the invitation to respond to the Census online, can you provide a paper copy instead?
